Project information checked 31 October 2026. Heesen announced Ananda on 1 June 2026. Performance and delivery figures describe the planned yacht; both images are reference-based AI illustrations.
A yacht’s character is shaped by the parts of a day that rarely make the headline: arriving from a tender, finding a quiet corner, or moving between a private suite and a busy lounge. Heesen’s Project Ananda puts those transitions near the centre of its design.
The Dutch yard is developing the 72.3-metre steel-hulled yacht with Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design. Its current availability listing gives delivery in the first quarter of 2030. The proposal combines hybrid cruising with a layout intended to separate private movement from the yacht’s social spaces.

Four hours of quiet cruising is a separate claim
Heesen specifies two MTU 12V4000 M65L engines, each rated at 1,920 kW, with PTI/PTO gearboxes. The yard says the hybrid arrangement enables silent cruising for up to four hours.
That statement should stay separate from the 5,000-nm range at 12 knots and the 16-knot maximum. The cited announcement does not establish that all three can be achieved in the same operating mode. It also does not provide a speed and hotel-load condition for the four-hour claim.
For an owner, the valuable next document would be a mode-by-mode operating profile. How long can the yacht run quietly at the intended speed with the desired air-conditioning and onboard services? What preparation is needed before that period, and what happens afterwards?
Those are useful questions because quiet operation and long-distance passage-making solve different parts of a trip. A hybrid label alone cannot tell the whole story, and this article makes no quantified emissions-saving claim.
A side entrance changes the guest journey
The proposed midships shell door opens to a boarding platform connected to a central glass elevator. In Heesen’s account, this lets guests reach their quarters without crossing the main social areas.
That is a practical form of privacy. A late arrival need not interrupt a group already settled into the lounge, and the route through the yacht becomes part of the hospitality rather than a corridor everyone must share.
It is also a design detail best understood in a general-arrangement plan. Trace a guest’s route, then the crew’s route during the same arrival. Check where luggage, wet clothing and service activity would go. The elegance of an entrance depends on what works around it.

Architecture that makes the view do more work
Sinot’s design references use broad glazing, low neutral seating and a restrained material palette. In the main-lounge image, the long view out is balanced by a darker, floating-looking ceiling panel and a compact group of furniture.
The effect is residential rather than theatrical. Visually, the seating stays low enough for the water to remain part of the room. This is an observation about the proposed design imagery, not a claim about the experience aboard a completed yacht.
Heesen describes adaptable owner-deck arrangements and an apartment-like primary suite. Its design feature also places emphasis on flowing circulation and a substantial bridge-deck VIP suite. These choices make the project interesting for groups who want shared time without giving everyone the same daily routine.
Has Project Ananda been launched?
The sources reviewed here do not announce a launch. The June project release scheduled keel laying for November 2026 and anticipated launch and delivery in 2030. On this article’s check date, that keel-laying date is still ahead; the current listing specifies Q1 2030 delivery.
That distinction matters when looking at attractive renderings. The design can be assessed now, while noise, operating performance and the finished living spaces still need to be demonstrated by the built vessel.
Ananda’s most promising idea is the connection between engineering and the daily guest experience. Its next milestones will show how much of that promise survives the demanding move from design to construction.
